Treating yourself to a McDonalds breakfast every now and then can be a true delight.

I especially love McDonalds breakfast sandwiches combined with a cup of their delicious coffee!

The question many people have though is whether you can also get a burger at McDonalds during breakfast hours.

Let’s find out straight away!

McDonalds does not serve burgers during breakfast. As they need time to switch over the grill from breakfast to their lunch menu, burgers are not available until 10:30am. So if you’re looking for a burger first thing in the morning, you’ll have to wait until later on in the day.

However, there are still plenty of other delicious breakfast options to choose from.

For example, you could try one of McDonalds’ breakfast sandwiches, like the famous Egg McMuffin.

This soft, delicious, toasted English muffin is topped with a freshly cracked egg and cheese.

It’s the perfect way to start your day and my go-to choice when I’m visiting McDonalds for breakfast!

If you’re looking for something a little lighter, McDonalds also offers Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits and Fruit & Maple Oatmeal.

Some McDonalds also have pancakes on the breakfast menu!

I personally always like to make it a breakfast menu as I love the fresh orange juice and coffee to go with it.

So even though you can’t get a burger at McDonalds during breakfast, there are still a lot of different things to choose between.

However, if you really want a burger for breakfast, make sure to read all the way through to the end as I’ll share some alternative options with you!

Why Doesn’t McDonalds Serve Breakfast All Day?

If you’ve ever been to McDonalds for breakfast, you might be wondering why they don’t serve it all day.

After all, wouldn’t that be more convenient for everyone?

Burgers are the most popular menu item at McDonalds and breakfast is their second most popular meal, so you would think that they would want to serve both all day long!

The answer is that it’s simply not possible for McDonalds to serve both breakfast and lunch at the same time.

This is because the breakfast menu and the lunch/dinner menu use the same items and cooking equipment.

For example, the breakfast menu uses items which are cooked on a same grill as the burgers and chicken sandwiches later on in the day.

This means that McDonalds would need to have two separate grills, one for breakfast and one for lunch/dinner, in order to serve both all day.

However, this is not logistically possible for McDonalds, so they can only serve breakfast until a certain time, after which the lunch menu starts.

Maybe one day McDonalds will be able to serve breakfast all day, but for now that’s not possible.

What Time Is Breakfast Over At McDonalds?

On weekdays, breakfast is served until 10:30am at McDonalds. After that, the lunch menu starts.

On weekends, breakfast is served a little later and goes until 11:00am.

So if you’re looking for a burger such as a Big Mac first thing in the morning, you’ll have to wait until at least 10:30am on weekdays and 11:00am on weekends when the grill is switched over and burgers become available.

Can You Get Fries During McDonalds Breakfast?

Unfortunately, just as with burgers, you cannot get fries during breakfast at McDonalds.

This is because fries are not served until the lunch menu starts at 10:30am.

So if you’re looking for fries to go with your breakfast sandwich, you’ll have to wait until later on in the day.

If you’re looking for a side to go with your breakfast sandwich that comes close to fries, McDonalds does offer hash browns on the breakfast menu.

Hash browns are a type of potato pancake that is popular in the United States.

Can You Get A Milkshake With McDonalds Breakfast?

Depending on the country you’re in, you may be able to get a milkshake with breakfast at McDonalds.

For example, in the United Kingdom, McDonalds generally offers a selection of milkshakes on the breakfast menu.

However, in the United States, not all McDonalds serve milkshakes for breakfast.

So, depending on the location, a milkshake may be available, or you might have to wait until the lunch menu starts.

Fortunately there are plenty of other great drinks to choose from during breakfast hours even if you can’t get a milkshake.

A smoothie for example might be a good alternative if you’re looking for something cold and refreshing to drink with your breakfast.

McDonalds offers a few different types of smoothies on the breakfast menu, including a strawberry banana smoothie.

Fast Food Places That Serve Burgers For Breakfast

If you’re looking for a burger for breakfast, you might be wondering if there are any other fast food places that serve them.

In general, most fast food places do not serve burgers for breakfast.

However, there are a few notable exceptions.

Burger King and Jack In The Box are a fast food chains that serve burgers during breakfast hours.

These chains have a breakfast menu that includes items like burgers, fries, and milkshakes as well.

Burger King for example serves their famous Whopper burger for breakfast.
